Bella Citta Gelato and Cafe

If there is heaven on Earth then this is it! The coffee's flavor will put you in Italy and make you feel that you need to repent for drinking something so sinfully good. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and provide prompt service. The gelato is the best and creamiest desert that has been created. You can only get something this good if you go to Italy. If you close your eyes you will hear the songs of the Gondoliers as the gelato sensual seduces every sensation in your body. If you have not been then you need to visit Bella Citta before you go to heaven.

Cup of Joe

Cup of Joe has a local small town feel that welcomes you from the moment you walk in and are greeted by the bubbly staff. The coffee is roasted on premise and has a full flavor that will leave you wanting more. This is effeminately a place that I would come just to relax and sip a good cup of Joe.

Cool Beans

Cool Beans seasonal lattes such as the eggnog is the best I have had. The energy is very rejuvenating and creates a feeling of comfort and security that makes you not want to leave. The expresso is number three on my list. The usual baked good make a good companion to a hot cup of pleasure.

Juice 'n Java

Juice 'n Java is a small independent operator while the service is outstanding the coffee is bursting with tantalizing flavor. Shade grown under organic conditions adds to the pleasure of partaking of this libation. They have a lot to offer in fresh juices and baked goods.

Brew Monkey

Gourmet coffee that is mild and yet tantalizing as it warms it path to satisfaction. It is a quaint out of the way places that needs to be visited to keep an appreciation for the simpler things in life. The menu is slim with sandwiches and basic coffee house baked goods.

Salt Lake City Coffee Break

Salt Lake City Coffee Break has a full-bodied mouth watering exspresso . The coffee shop has a nice outdoor patio that is heated with propane heaters during those cold winter weekend nights. The café offers up a wide selection of drinks and Mediterranean menu options along with the typical coffee shop baked goods.

Pierre Country Bakery & Cafe

Pierre Country Bakery & Cafe has a wonderful expresso and the pastries are to die for. The fresh baked French breads, baguettes, sourdough, whole wheat, rye, cheese bread, Italian focaccia, and flaky croissants filled with all sorts of good things are but a few of the items that will have your mouth watering. Soups, salads, sandwiches, and quiche are also part of the deal.

Bad Ass Coffee Company

They specialize in Hawaiian coffee that has a bold and robust flavor that is calming to the palate and energizing to the soul. The ambiance has a coastal and outdoor feel that completes the experience.

Cocoa Caffe

The Atmosphere is cozy and delightful with a little European charm. The coffee is good but I do need to mention that the the food is delicious, the homemade scones, pastries, napoleons, croissants and cakes. You can have a Parmesan and herb sandwich with your choice of chicken, pheasant, prosciutto, mortadella, or sopressata and topped with mozzarella and tomatoe, then lightly toasted. This is definatley a place to go and experiance a bit of Europe.

Starbucks

While this is now an American Icon there is no other coffee that can say it was at the beginning of the coffee revolution in America. With that said the coffee is descent but Starbucks uses too much sweeteners and creamers. The experience of coffee at Starbucks is very Americanized and dilutes the true being of Java.

Salt Lake Roasting Co. and Cafe

The coffee is the main attraction (the selection from around the world is staggering) and the quality is good at best the body and aroma leave a lot to be desired.

The spacious cafe is a popular hangout for students and downtown businesspeople. In addition to a number of tables, the main floor boasts two roasters, an old-fashioned scale and a pile of burlap bags filled with coffee beans. A central staircase takes you upstairs where there is more seating, and walls decorated with maps.

There is a surprisingly good cafe menu that changes daily. The veggie tacos--two corn tortillas topped with rice, beans, cheese, fresh vegetables and salsa--have a smoky Southwest flavor. The vegetable Indienne--curry over rice--mingles sweet and savory flavors with spicy undertones. The SLRC deli sandwich with ham, turkey, salami and cheese is a standard menu item and comes with the soup of the day. Beautiful desserts are tempting and satisfying.
